1. I’M NOT VERY GOOD AT MEDITATION. MY BRAIN IS SO BUSY THAT I CAN’T QUIETEN IT DOWN OR CLEAR MY MIND.

You have come to the right place! With Effortless Meditation we do not expect you to quiet or clear your mind. You are human, you will have thoughts, and that is all very normal. With Effortless Meditation it is accepted that your mind will wander away to thoughts and this is all an integral part of the meditation process. So rest easy….you may just have found a meditation that suits you.

2. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GAIN ALL THE BENEFITS OF MEDITATION?

There are many different types of meditation and there are some that you will get better at over time. However, with Effortless Meditation you will be able to meditate after the very first session and once you have learnt the very simple technique you won’t get any better over time. You may have different experiences along the way but essentially you will have nailed it from the first time and will be starting to gain all the benefits that meditation has to offer. These benefits don’t take long to notice, and with a regular meditation practice you will start to feel the benefits outside of your meditation practice in your daily life.

3. IS MEDITATION GOOD FOR ANXIETY OR DEPRESSION?

The effects of meditation on anxiety and depression has been extensively studied and particularly the effects of effortless meditation. In a meta-analysis of 146 different studies of how various meditation and relaxation techniques reduced trait anxiety, those practicing an effortless mantra meditation technique had a dramatic reduction in anxiety. Meditation can help activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which reduces the body's stress response and meditation helps you become more aware of your thoughts, feelings, and triggers, which can lead to better self-understanding and coping strategies for managing anxiety and depression.

4. WHAT IS A GOOD WAY TO GET STARTED WITH MEDITATION TODAY?

A great way to start is by using a guided meditation. There are so many free guided meditations you can choose from, so I suggest finding a guided meditation you like. Just find two to three, not to complicate things, and just use these meditations on rotation. The meditation is not to entertain you, but to drop you into a deep sense of relaxation.
